Still Point Theatre Collective is a community of Chicago artists who use theater to educate, inspire, and challenge our communities to action. Through performances, workshops, retreats, and community events we celebrate our common spirituality, and raise consciousness on issues of peace and justice.
Since 1993, we have used theater-making to amplify hard-to-hear voices at society's margins, including prison inmates and former inmates, adults with developmental disabilities, and alumni of the state child welfare system.
Since 1993, Still Point Theatre Collective has been cultivating the expression of voices we seldom hear in mainstream society. The Persephone Project, named for the Greek mythological goddess who was bound to spend half of her life in the Underworld, creates unique creative opportunities for women incarcerated at Chicago area detention centers.
