COVID-19 - THE SHOW MUST GO ON!

Still Point Theatre Collective is holding a vision to thrive in spite of the obvious challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic.

As we hold this vision, we have developed several online initiatives:

1.  A monthly online Art-Sharing Salon (Participants share poetry, music, scripts, etc.)

2.  Two weekly,  online writing groups

3.   Still Point has become the launching pad for a climate crisis festival in Chicago! Company-member Nate Smith called a meeting of theatre artists in January to see what could be done about the greatest threat our species has ever faced—global warming, which is causing the sixth mass extinction event to occur on our planet. The Sixth Festival is what has come of those meetings. Meetings for this effort are currently held on Mondays via Zoom. Find out more at Thesixthfest.org

4. Still Point teaching Artists, Abby Pajakowski and Clearie McCarthy have developed a four-month creative writing course taught remotely to women who are currently incarcerated. This program is currently in various phases at Metropolitan Correctional Center (Chicago), Cook County Jail, and Johnson County Department of Corrections in Kansas City. Our partnership with Johnson County marks the inaugural program of Still Point’s Kansas City branch! For more information about our remote programming, please email us at StillPointTheatreCollective@gmail.com.

5. Our Theatre/Creative Writing Apprenticeship with women transitioning out of prison continues! This years’ program began on November 11th, 2020, and takes place via Zoom.

6. Our professional production The True Cost: Stories of Human Trafficking has recently been adapted to a live-streamed online event! This production is now available for booking. For information on this production, please visit our “Productions” tab or email Nate Smith at StillPointTheatreBooking@gmail.com

7. Additionally, we are conducting online retreats in collaboration with Mercy Center in Burlingame, CA.

Please let us know if you'd like to participate in any of the above groups or if you would like further information.

We will continue to adapt with enthusiasm and resume with a full calendar as soon as it is safe to do so!

If you have the means to donate during this difficult time, we would be incredibly grateful!

Take care, we miss you!<3 Still Point Theatre Collective
