The Imagination Workshop

Since 1992 Still Point has conducted theatre and music workshops tailored to the needs of adults with developmental disabilities. Ranging in length from six weeks to ongoing programs, the Collective provides seven workshops a week at five Chicago-based agencies: New Horizon Center, Esperanza Community Services, El Valor, Anixter Center, and Keshet.
Using dance, movement, music, comedy, and improvisation, these workshops provide a space in which individual expression is encouraged. Each workshop culminates in performances of original works. By discovering and developing each participant's gifts, communication and social skills are enhanced, and members gain an opportunity to serve the community through performance.
An acting troupe comprised of accomplished participants from Still Point Theatre's program at Esperanza in Chicago has toured their performances of original scenes, music and dance to a variety of local venues, delighting their audiences with their remarkable artistry and humor.
