Feeling Beautiful All Over weaves together the humorous, harrowing and ultimately uplifting stories written and performed by Sisters Rising, an ensemble of formerly incarcerated women. This piece spans the life experiences of the ensemble members, from the joy and pain of childhood through first love and adolescent rebellion to devastating loss and eventual recovery. Each woman discovers a determination to survive and thrive and accepts the challenge to rekindle her self-esteem. The sisters rise phoenix-like to embrace that which makes them and all of us truly beautiful: an abiding love for ourselves. |
