Since 1992 Still Point has conducted theatre and music workshops tailored to the needs of adults with developmental disabilities. Ranging in length from six weeks to ongoing programs, these workshops take place at six Chicago-based agencies: New Horizons, Esperanza Community Services, and El Valor, as well as three public parks.
Using dance and movement, music, comedy, and improvisation, these workshops provide a space in which individual expression is encouraged
By discovering and developing each participant's gifts, communication and social skills are enhanced, memebers gain an opportunity to serve the community through performance.
Still Point's Theatre workshops for developmentally disabled adults culminate in performances of original works.
An acting troupe comprised of accomplished participants from Still Point's Theatre program at Esperanza in Chicago has toured their shows of original scenes, music and dance at a variety of local venues, dazzling their audiences with their remarkable artistry and humor.
